C.H.E. Bacolod Chicken House Express

Total bill: ₱570

Cost per person: ₱285 (No service charge)

What I ordered & my thoughts:

  • Pecho (₱145): As their signature dish, the chicken inasal completely lived up to expectations! Even the breast meat, which easily gets dry elsewhere, was remarkably tender and juicy. The only minor drawback was that the meat closest to the bone was still slightly pink.

  • Baticolon (₱50), Pork BBQ (₱50): Both were highly flavorful and well-marinated, though some gizzards were still a bit tough.

  • Chicken Skin (₱60): A solid new addition to the menu that is worth a try. However, it lacked a bit of fire; I personally prefer my chicken skin grilled until it is much crispier and drier.

  • Garlic Fried Rice (₱35): Absolutely top-tier when paired with the grilled meats.

Overall experience:

  • The shop offers a wonderful, bustling local vibe as night falls. While the space is small and tight, making it better for a quick comfort meal than a large hangout.

  • Crowds start lining up around 6:00 PM, so your wait time will depend entirely on how long the queue is.

My review:

With generous portions, great prices, and fantastic value for money, this place has easily become a go-to neighborhood diner. If you are in the area on a Friday night, definitely drop by to join the crowd and enjoy a piping hot, delicious dinner!
