Yotteba Izakaya Revolution
Total bill: ₱ 834.39
Cost per person: ₱417.19
What I ordered & my thoughts:
Tonkatsu (₱289 + ₱90 Rice Set): The breading was thick, while the meat felt a bit tough, making the overall texture less enjoyable. The shredded cabbage was also cut thicker than usual, so it didn’t give that light, refreshing contrast.
Fried Chicken Skin (₱59 + ₱10 for flavor): Served not hot, which already took away from the experience. I added the wasabi garlic flavor (+₱10), but the wasabi was barely noticeable. Honestly, the chili powder on the table worked better.🌶️
Takoyaki (₱149): The most disappointing dish. It didn’t feel like authentic takoyaki, more like dense, deep-fried potato balls with sauce on top. Some bites were unusually hard, and I later realized they were overcooked octopus pieces that were difficult to even swallow. 😕
Vegetable Tempura (₱159): The portion was generous, including enoki mushrooms, which was a nice touch. However, the batter easily separated from the vegetables, making it feel like they were being eaten separately. The dipping sauce portion also felt insufficient for the serving size.
Overall experience:
The restaurant was busy, with tables placed quite close to each other. Sitting in the middle row felt cramped, especially with staff frequently passing through the narrow space, not the most comfortable setup for dining. 😅
Ordering is done via QR code on your phone, though a physical menu is available. It’s convenient, but may not be the most user-friendly for everyone.
One positive point is that they offer smaller portion options at lower prices, which is great if you want to try a variety of dishes without over-ordering. The service was friendly and responsive throughout.👍
My review:
The food quality was fairly average, somewhat aligned with the pricing, but not particularly memorable. Combined with the crowded environment, it didn’t feel like a place to sit and enjoy a relaxed meal. If you’re familiar with Japanese food, this might not fully meet expectations. It works more as a quick, casual stop rather than a place to linger.
